i went to UP today to finally find out the verdict on my math 17 subject. heart pounding and brow sweating, i made my way to the faculty room to ascertain my fate. removals or no removals? pass or fail? tres or death? these questions were flying in my mind as i went half-mad. the moment of truth came and there were the last two long exams and the finals on the table. i got them, glancing surreptitiously at the others' grades as i located mine. i didn't even bother adding up the score i got on the finals. ignorance is bliss, don'tchaknow? so after a lot of shuffling around, i finally found all three of them and looked at my teacher for the final word.
here it goes. TRES. A BIG FAT TRES. 3.00. TRES.
i heaved a huge sigh of relief. in my mind, at least. i don't think i actually did it. the whole trip was a blur to be honest. he told me i got a whooping 63%. he said my finals grade brought the whole thing down. (i knew it! i'm an idiot.) he asked me to check if i could still bring up my grade. i stared at him stupidly and asked "how do i do that?" can i make another poem? he said no. apparently, the only way to bring my grade up was to check for corrections. heaven's sake. i don't even understand what i wrote on there let alone check if it's right or not. so after leafing through my exams, i took a deep breath and said, "sir, okay nako sa tres". so i smiled at him and thanked him. and he wished me luck on math 100.
like the bitch that i am, i can't help but feel bad about it. i pray so hard to get a three and i'm not even satisfied. i blame the poster i saw at the CBA building. it said it would hire people who had grades 2.75 and higher. i cannot believe that memory still haunts me! i don't even remember what kind of job it was for. bank work or something like that. i hate to think having a 3 on my transcript will affect me in the future.
but as i told my sister and my mom the news, it kinda put the whole thing back in perspective. i passed, i can move on. no more retaking, no more removals, goodbye math 17. GOODBYE MATH 17!
AHHHHH. it feels good to say that.
:D
