what a stressful day!
i wake up at 9:35 AM! miracle, i know! already, my steps to getting back on track seem to be working! so happy about that! but of course, me being me, i took a piss, and went straight back to bed. don't judge me too harshly though. i did put my ipod in to keep from falling asleep. it didn't work. i wake back up at 11 cause of my dad who tells me to accompany him to makati to get ate ida's check. he bugs me until i agree. my mom tells me to get lunch ready, we eat lunch, i take a shower and we're off. my dad is in the driver's seat when my mom yells out "bat di ikaw na lang mag-drive? para ma-practice ka!" so, of course, my dad promptly tells me that i should be driving and proceeds to take my seat.
this is where the trouble starts. we need to go to makati med to meet ate ida and get a copy of her ID. all's good on that front. she asks us to meet her at the lobby. frankly, i've never been inside makati med so going inside was a new experience. it's all fancy with burger king and ministop inside and lots of well-dressed people. she arrives and we're off to UB Medical. imma skip ahead right now and tell you that we got lost. like, really lost. something untoward was about to happen with all the circles we were going around in. we turn right on a fucking one way street! before we can react and get the hell outta there, this lady traffic enforcer spots us, sees me, and radios this more senior (or at least with a better uniform) traffic enforcer. he comes around to the driver's side, looks at me and asks the following questions:
- May lisensya ka na ba? - Opo.
- Ilang taon ka na ba? - 18 po.
good god. i have never been pulled over in my entire life!!! they proceed to ask me to pull over by the sidewalk. they talk to dad mostly as he explains how the fuck we got into this mess. all ate heny's fault, i tell ya! they relent when they see the pathetic as fuck driving instructions we're following. heavenssake! i never want to be pulled over ever again. i don't handle authority very well. i was about to burst into tears, i swear to gawd. finally, they conceded that we really didn't know what we were doing (nudged along by the fact that dad said we're from mindoro) and proceeded to assist us to make a u-turn.
we eventually get to the building and take ate ida's check worth P4950. i swear, if it were something like, P1000 i would have just handed over the 1000 myself to save us all the trouble we got into.
i don't even know if we could have gotten penalized for that. it was a mistake of stupidity. there was obviously a sign but we relied too heavily on the instructions ate heny gave. it was just our luck that no cars were there to make it clear to us that it was a one-way road. GAWWWD!! we so stupid! as my dad so eloquently put it, "tanga tayong dalawa sa makati". sigh. so true.
i'm beginning to think it's some kind of tradition that i get lost in makati first before enrollment. good god! too much stress!
after that incident, i refused to drive. we went to raon, quiapo next to get my dad's videoke machine fixed. after that we had merienda at ma mon luk.
one thing i learned about business at ma mon luk: consistency is key. that is all.
we went to san lazaro after to pay for our smart bro bill which dad apparently left unpaid for three months. there's a whole other scandal that happened at the cashier. but eventually, he just paid with his credit card and we got ourselves out of there, onto waltermart, and finally...home.
what a long, long day! so glad to just hit the sack and listen to princess of china by coldplay all night :D
siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh!major buntong hininga for all the trouble i got into today.
that's it for now! bye!
