YOU'RE FUCKED.
saw 127 Hours last saturday with my sisters and i gotta say, there was a moment in that film where he just gets that face. the face that says "totally fucked". he could have totally avoided the situation if he had a friggin cellphone. ahhh, well. staring at james franco's face for about an hour and a half wasn't so bad. i feel like the plot lacked the arc a good movie has. it was an okay movie but it will definitely give people something to talk about.
as per usual, nothing has been accomplished this weekend. i like to blame it on my environment of general laziness. both my sisters are in between jobs at the moment and are enjoying their work-free time. i am dragged into this charade as well so i end up not accomplishing anything either. my mom is always busy with her own work so she has no time to reprimand me for not doing anything. also, she has moved her office downstairs so she can no longer see what i am up to in my room.
i have two exams this week and a vivro article i'm not sure if i should still pursue. the computer is broken but i am dealing with it one day at a time (thank goodness i have a laptop now or i would be a hot mess). i'm still working on the pubmat for ABAM. i used gimp to make it and i just had a really bad experience with it. but i gritted my teeth and finished a very generic looking poster. then my cousin chats me up on facebook and tells me that portable photoshop exists. after downloading a passworded copy i couldn't use, i found a non-passworded one and my laptop now has photoshop in it. hooray! spoken like a true geek, as my friend once said. i gotta practice on photoshop more as it is very draining to work on something with no pre-conceived notion of what it will look like in the end since everything usable is pre-set.
those are my work concerns for the week. add to that my social life. i plan to visit koko on her birthday and do goodness knows what when i get to her school on the 17th. i also have a date with daryll which i'm not sure can push through if sam and i go on that Taal fieldtrip on the 19th. i am looking forward to getting plastered with koko and sam because we all know my life is in shambles and i need to meet some alcohol to complete the picture. yes, i've decided i want to ruin my liver and lose some cognitive function to escape life's daily hassles.
i hope everything goes well this week because there's a lot to do. i hope everything goes well. i have to work hard. but now, i have to sleep.
oh goodness. i have to tell the story of what happened at our family valentine dinner. we were having chocolate fondue for dessert. it went well enough. we were dipping chunks of apple, pear and banana in this dark chocolate melt (dark choco from indo) plus evap milk and we were all enjoying it. then it was time for us to put the candle out at the bottom. i tried blowing on it and mom was putting it out with a fork. then ate heny gets this brilliant idea of spooning some water out of her glass and dousing the candle with it. we don't know why it happened, but the candle exploded and a column of fire about three feet high burst up from it. it was both amazing and scary. the column was beautiful and i wish we could've captured it in a picture. i screamed when it happened and we all found ourselves up on our feet and a good distance from the table. all we could do was laugh at the immensity of what transpired. we experienced one HOT valentine's day. my mom claims her heart was pounding after the incident. good finish to an otherwise boring and unproductive day.
